The tension between representational and abstract and what emerges from it is what interests me as a visual artist. I am looking for the narrative in the details of my surroundings and trying to capture impressions as well as a sense of place in the moment.
The abstraction of the subject and the tactile nature of the medium are key focal points for me. While the work of the abstract impressionists figure strongly in my outlook, I find inspiration and kinship in the works of the Automatiste movement that originated in Quebec. Themes of renewal, nature and home, organically emerge in my work with a strong focus on colour and texture with multiple layers exhibiting the ongoing dialogue.
My work has been exhibited at the Agnes Jamieson Gallery, Pearson International Airport and featured on design shows on television. Based in Toronto with a second studio in Quebec, my works can be found in private collections throughout the Greater Toronto Area, Quebec, New York and Mexico. Works range from paintings on canvas to outdoor murals on wood.

Beverage of choice
Coffee, cappuccino, cortados, americanos, did I mention coffee?
Coffees per day and from where
Nugget Espresso on Dundas St W --one of the best cappuccinos in the city. I try to limit it to two a day. Honestly.....
What do you listen to when you work?
I am currently working on a large painting commission ( 4' x 5') of birch trees while listening to Serena Ryder
What kind of artwork do you have in your home?
An eclectic mix of local/Ontario artists as well as ones from Saskatchewan, my home province. One of my favourites is a herd of cows from Owen Sound artist Linda Knox. It lives in my study so I see it whenever I am working on my photography or website.
How long have you been creating art?
Why is it important for people to have art in their home or life?
Art should first and foremost speak to you. Your home reflects who you are and what you love and art is way of reflecting that. It enhances your life and gives you moments of joy and reflection when you least expect it.
